A new path

The founders of Aha!DVD and its contributors have been making television programs for many years. We have worked in various formats and genres, particularly in the world of documentary.

Aha!DVD enables us to use a new narrative form. We hope to present subjects in a multi-facetted and refreshing way - independently from television.

Volker Gehrke Founder of Aha!DVD. Since 1990, he has been working as film editor and documentary filmmaker for Television. His productions include numerous documentary features and Arte "Themenabende" ("Theme Nights"). Volker is one of the managing directors of the postproduction company Dig It! GmbH in Cologne, Germany. He is co-publisher of the popular special interest DVD "History of Swimming".
Mika Kallwass Founder of Aha!DVD. Mika studied Directing and Screenwriting in the UK and in New York. As filmmaker, she has directed both fiction and documentary films. Now she works as freelance writer and script advisor (i.e. "Stromberg", "Dr. Psycho" / PRO7).
Katja Duregger Contributor, documentary filmmaker. Katja shot and directed the first Aha!DVD: "Let Yourself Go - The Lives of Jazz Pianist Fred Hersch". She works as freelance TV journalist and documentary filmmaker for various German broadcasters, like WDR, HR, ZDF, 3sat and Arte.
